Member One announced today the promotion of Jean Hopstetter to Senior Executive Vice President and Tim Rowe to Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.

Hopstetter joined Member One in May 2008 as executive vice president. During her tenure with Member One, she has provided strategic direction of critical operations and improved efficiencies on all levels of the organization. Hopstetter has helped to grow the credit union’s assets from $330 million to nearly $1 billion, and increase membership from 55,000 to over 118,000.

“Jean’s stable leadership and vision is one of Member One’s strongest assets,” said Frank Carter, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We look forward to a bright future for the credit union and continued growth through her guidance.”

Hopstetter has a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a management specialization from Saint Leo University. She is a graduate of the Authentic Leadership Development Program and Finance for Senior Executives from Harvard Business School, and is a graduate of the Credit Union Executive Society’s (CUES) CEO Institute.” In this new role, Hopstetter will oversee the credit union’s lending, operations, and marketing departments.

“I’m honored to continue serving Member One in this new capacity,” said Hopstetter. “It has been exciting to watch the credit union grow over the years and witness how our membership has been positively impacted by the success of our organization.”

Rowe has been with Member One for over 30 years and previously served as Chief Risk Officer and Chief Lending Officer. Throughout his extensive tenure with the credit union, Rowe has contributed to all aspects of risk mitigation including regulatory compliance, fraud management, collections, vendor management, and project management, as well as leading all of Member One’s lending portfolio.

“Tim’s commitment to protecting both our members and the credit union are vital to Member One’s continued and strategic growth,” said Carter. “His leadership, diligence, and dedication have helped expand our operations and membership. I confidently look forward to Member One’s future under Tim’s direction.”

Rowe holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Insurance, and Business Law from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Business Administration from Radford University. He has completed the Certified Innovation Executive program, Advanced School of Risk Management, School of Business Lending, and Principles of Real Estate with CUES. In addition, he is a graduate of Finance for Senior Executives and Leadership Best Practices programs from Harvard Business School Executive Education, and is a graduate of Regulatory Compliance School from the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU).

“Member One has a strong foundation that has stood the test of time, and I’m proud of my part in that,” said Rowe. “We’ve continued to see smart growth where other financial institutions have experienced downsizing. We’re moving into the future with confidence, committed leaders, and a thriving membership—a formula for success for the credit union and our members.”
