Virginia Credit Union was proud to accept the Henrico County Department of Outreach & Engagement’s inaugural Heart of Service Award recently, in recognition of the credit union’s exceptional volunteerism and community service efforts.
VACU believes in the power of volunteerism to strengthen communities, advance the missions of local nonprofits and community partners, and create positive change. The credit union’s employees have volunteered 993 hours to various community causes this year, with dozens of other volunteer initiatives to come.
“So many of our local nonprofits and community groups depend on the time and talents of volunteers to make their work possible and to amplify the impact of their efforts in the community,” notes VACU Learning and Development Manager Nathan Moubray, who coordinates the credit union's volunteer efforts. “VACU is committed to the well-being of our communities, and our volunteer efforts are one more way we demonstrate that commitment.”
Moubray is one of many VACU employees whose volunteer efforts are making a difference in our communities and across the Commonwealth.
Last year, VACU provided more than $1 million in financial support for various charitable and community causes, volunteered 2,500 hours at local nonprofits and organizations, and reached more than 100,000 individuals through its financial education initiatives.
