During the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness month, Member One sold pink “Check and Protect” hoodies to benefit the Carilion Clinic Breast Care Center.

The entire month of October, Member One sold hoodies online and in branches. We also ran promotions on our Facebook page and even internal competitions. Friday, October 25th, employees participated in a Pink Out Day, where anyone who had purchased a hoodie could wear it to work. Others enjoyed showing their support by wearing pink ties, shirts and ribbons.

The Main Branch hosted Carilion Clinics Breast Care Center twice, encouraging members to schedule mammograms and generally raise awareness for the cause.

We are happy to announce that through the sale of hoodies and generous donations to the cause, we raised $7,037.82! We were also able to donate several boxes of left over hoodies to the Cancer Center.

Member One also donated left over hoodies to Total Action for Progress and the Salvation Army. Natalie from TAP said, “These hoodies will definitely go far – we can give them out to our clients, domestic violence ladies, Father’s First women, young adult life enhancement…we’re very blessed.” Members, employees and those in the community affected by breast cancer all enjoyed showing their support for the cause and Member One is happy to be a part of it all.
